2019 Club 7s Handbook: Introduction (Section 1)

The purpose of the 2019 Club 7s Handbook is to provide teams and administrators with the tools and information necessary to organize and participate in Club 7s events under a national set of standards.

The USA Rugby Club 7s National Championship was first played in 1985 and remains – to this day – the most influential platform for the identification of players for the national team pools.

Formerly under the control of the USA Rugby Competitions Committee, and later the club-based version of the National Competitions Committee, Club 7s is today governed by the 7s working group of the Performance Game Board (Section 3). This working group is also tasked with the management of Club 7s qualifiers held throughout the United States, as well as the general oversight and development of Rugby 7s.
